Rig Requirements We have a basic set of requirements for all rigs. 4-wheel drive vehicle in good mechanical condition. Seatbelts for all passengers. Roll-over protection. Factory hard top, or roll bar/cage. Spare tire in good condition. Properly secured battery. No coat hangers or bungee cords.
Trail Rules What a member does on their own time, is their business. However if a Member does anything that could remotely reflect a negative image on the Yuma 4-Wheelers, that member may be dismissed from the Yuma 4-Wheelers 4-Wheel Drive Club. Rules On The Trail: The primary objective of the Yuma 4-Wheelers is enjoyment, not competition. Practices involving “dares” or “egging on” are not acceptable. Members must be left to choose for themselves what obstacles they prefer to try or go round. Leave all egos and attitudes at home and have a great time!!
No person shall operate a rig in a reckless or careless manner, or in a manner causing, or likely to cause, significant undue damage to or disturbance to the soil, wildlife, or wildlife habitats.
Obey local laws and regulations at all times. Stay on designated trails when laws prohibit going off-road.
Don't cut trail, follow the vehicle in front of you unless the Trail Leader indicates a "play area" or "by-pass".
Keep the environment clean. Pick up your trash.
The Trail Leader is the boss on the trail. Members must listen to the instructions of the Trail Leader.
All recoveries will be done so in a safe and orderly manner and at the direction of the Trail Leader. When making a turn on to another trail or road, wait for the vehicle behind you. Do not continue on until he/she sees you make the turn.
Try to keep up, so the person you are following doesn't have to wait too long.
If someone breaks down, all rigs in the group must wait until the vehicle is able to continue, and follow the instructions of the Trail Leader. People will never be left behind. We came together, we will leave together.
People behind the Trail Leader must keep both the person in front and behind in their sight, and keep a fair distance as well.
Drivers are responsible for the behavior of children, guests and pets traveling in their rigs.
When faster vehicles approach from the rear, the Tail Gunner (driver at the rear of the formation) will inform the Trail Leader (via radio) and the group will pull to the side, as soon as it’s safe to do so, and let them pass.
Any person leaving a run early, will report to the Trail Leader, in person, prior to leaving.
No unnecessary discharging of firearms during the Trail Runs.
Harming of wildlife, including, but not limited to, rattle snakes, scorpions and tarantulas will not be tolerated.
Primary CB channel is channel 1. Secondary channel is channel 13.
These rules are enforced to ensure that we all have a safe and fun 4-Wheeling experience. If you disagree with any of these rules, or you have a problem with letting someone else be “in charge”, or you think that you have been 4-Wheeling for so long, that our rules don‘t apply to you, then you need to find another Club.
